It turns out that in New York, there are about half a million Citi Bike trips per month (the city’s bike-sharing service) if we’re talking about February 2026. Or just over 5 million trips per month (!) during the most popular cycling months, from July through September.
Around 11,000 people per day use two-wheeled transport to get to Manhattan from Queens and Brooklyn:
- Williamsburg Bridge (4,678 trips)
- Brooklyn Bridge (2,318 trips)
- Manhattan Bridge (2,221 trips)
- Queensboro Bridge (2,170 trips)
I love numbers, so it’s especially interesting to find out what the longest ride on a rented bike was. For example, on June 1, 2025, the longest trip was 19 miles (30 km), lasted 239 minutes, and cost the rider $98.07.
