The other day, I stepped out of the subway near the Oculus and decided to grab a coffee.
I opened the map, spotted a place with a funny name — No Plates Coffee — and walked over, not expecting much.

First Impression
The spot turned out to be small, bright, and welcoming — with a focus on specialty coffee and matcha drinks. But what caught my eye first were the desserts in glass jars — perfectly designed for the grab-and-go format: beautiful, practical, and delicious.
A few minutes later, I somehow found myself holding a blueberry-coconut chia pudding. That wasn’t part of the plan — but fate clearly had its own. Next thing I knew, the jar was empty and I was wondering what just happened.

The Concept
When I took out my camera to capture the place, I learned the story behind it. The founders come from different professional backgrounds — retail, business, and healthcare — and joined forces to create a coffee brand built around speed, design, and quality in a single, seamless experience.
All the desserts are made on site with carefully chosen ingredients, no shortcuts. The “in a jar” format makes it easy to enjoy your treat in the café, at the park, or on the go — no plates, no fuss. Hence the name: No Plates.
Next, No Plates plans to move toward a fully digital experience — with orders via mobile app or self-service stations. The idea is to blend craftsmanship with technology and reimagine what grab-and-go can be — fast, elegant, and thoughtful.
