Walking along the Hudson, it’s impossible not to notice this unusual building. VIA 57 West is one of the most extravagant structures in New York City. It’s easy to spot in photos — it looks like a skyscraper bent into the shape of a pyramid.
VIA 57 West was designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and his firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), known for their “the stranger, the better” approach. Built in 2016, the building rises 467 feet tall. It contains 709 apartments, with rents starting at $4,100 for a studio.

BIG’s concept was to create a hybrid between the traditional New York skyscraper and a European perimeter block. The design of VIA 57 West makes it possible to have a 2,000-square-meter courtyard garden inside the building. It also promises residents breathtaking views of the Hudson River.
The building features a swimming pool, fitness center, basketball court, golf simulator, children’s playroom, library, poker room, media room, luxurious lounges with fireplaces, a chef’s kitchen, catering kitchen, dining room, and an outdoor terrace with impressive river views.

By the way, VIA 57 West has also appeared in the TV series “Billions”. And you thought billionaires only live on the Upper East Side?
