Spyscape in New York is a thrilling museum dedicated to the fascinating world of espionage. Here, visitors will find interactive exhibits, the history of spycraft, real spy gadgets and challenges, as well as a personalized psychological profile designed with input from former MI6 experts. It’s hard to find another museum in New York that delivers such a high-quality, immersive experience.
What to Do at Spyscape
Founded in 2018, Spyscape is much more than a museum about the history of espionage. Its signature feature has always been the engaging interactivity of its installations, making it an experience you can enjoy with friends or family.
As of 2025, Spyscape consists of seven main zones:
- Encryption — dedicated to the cryptanalysts who broke the German Enigma machine during World War II.
- Deception — telling the story of the FBI’s hunt for the KGB mole Robert Hanssen.
- Surveillance — a circular 360-degree room featuring the story of Edward Snowden.
- Hacking — focusing on the activities of the hacktivist group Anonymous.
- Cyber Warfare — examining the Stuxnet computer worm.
- Special Ops — showcasing World War II spy gadgets and the story of SOE operative Virginia Hall.
- Intelligence — exploring the role of espionage and analysis during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Museum Archives and Special Exhibitions
Spyscape regularly hosts temporary interactive installations. For example:
- “Batman x Spyscape” offered visitors a chance to test their detective skills with the help of a mobile app.
- “Driven: 007 x Spyscape” (2022) became the first official James Bond exhibition in New York. Its centerpiece was the Aston Martin DB5 driven by Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the museum made its “007 x Spyscape” exhibition available online for free. In 2020, it also launched its own podcast featuring interviews with real-life spies.
