Messages on windows in New York

In New York City, there’s a very fun tradition of leaving messages in your windows for those who live or work in the buildings across from you. If your buildings are located opposite each other, a whole invisible bridge of sympathy is created, across which all sorts of messages can travel.

For example, my photographs show the windows of the Saatchi & Saatchi Building, which stands across from the Google St. John’s Terminal (I wrote about it here).

Across the floors, you’ll find a variety of messages addressed to Google employees, from a sweet “Hi, how are you?” to an offer to play tic-tac-toe.
