New York never ceases to amaze, and this time it’s with a completely unconventional project. Prada has decided to build its own skyscraper on Fifth Avenue!
What Is the Prada Tower?
Prada’s mega-project will be carried out in collaboration with the developer Related, known for its contribution to the creation of Hudson Yards — one of New York’s most ambitious residential complexes. The first floor will house a new Prada flagship store, and above it will be offices and luxury apartments.
The skyscraper will be located directly across from the iconic Trump Tower. Prada bought both buildings — 724 and 720 Fifth Avenue — for $835 million after 25 years of leasing. The new development is expected to become one of Manhattan’s most expensive residential addresses — prices per square foot may exceed $10,000 (that’s $107,000 per square meter).
The most interesting part is that, according to rumors, the Prada Tower will be connected to the exclusive Aman New York hotel located nearby. This hotel is famous not only for its unique location but also for its luxury.
For example, on the 14th floor there is a sky lobby with a piano bar and a view of Central Park, and its spa spans three entire floors, including a pool, relaxation halls, and specialized rest rooms. There’s a possibility that residents of the new Prada Tower will be able to use these amenities.
Louis Vuitton Isn’t Falling Behind
The brand has already submitted plans to build a 25-story tower on 57th Street with its own café, terrace, gallery, and spa overlooking Central Park.
