Recently, I visited a truly unusual place — a store that’s hard to describe in words. The atmosphere feels like it came straight out of Twin Peaks, and there’s definitely a bit of magic in the air. But the most surprising part? Everyday items like bread, cheese, or cocktails are actually… candles.

What is Gohar World?
Gohar World is an ultra-stylish boutique of decorative home objects. Everything here is devoted to the art of table setting and atmosphere — from dishes to small accessories that together create what the founders call a tableware universe. The brand was founded by sisters Laila and Nadia Gohar in 2020.
Their signature idea is “surrealist tablescape” — turning everyday items into art pieces that completely transform your idea of how a dinner table can look.

What You’ll Find in the Store
This is not just a shop, but a true theater of objects. Among the items you can find are:
- lace “dresses” for eggs
- bottle aprons
- satin baguette bags
- and the iconic ricotta basket candles, along with candles shaped like cakes, baguettes, and even cocktails

These pieces may make you smile, but they’re guaranteed to turn your dinner table into a stage and set the perfect mood — especially if you’re expecting guests.
One of the most talked-about items is the Citrus Squeezer Bird — a lemon squeezer shaped like a bird, priced at $38. It’s not just a kitchen tool, but a tiny sculpture that elevates the table.

Who Created the Brand
The Gohar sisters come from Egypt.
- Laila Gohar is a well-known artist who collaborates with fashion and design brands, creating visual and gastronomic installations — a literal bridge between culinary art, fashion, and design.
- Nadia Gohar helps bring these artistic ideas to life through the brand.
All Gohar World objects are handmade in small family workshops around the world — from Egypt to Vietnam — giving each item a unique and soulful character.
If the idea that the table is a stage and dinner is a performance speaks to you, Gohar World is a must-visit. It’s the kind of place that’s almost impossible to leave empty-handed — truly unforgettable.
