Burp Castle

Burp Castle — New York’s Most Quiet Bar

Of all the bars in New York (and there are many of the best bars in the world), there is one common drawback: they are usually very loud.

Today, we are going to tell you about a unique New York establishment — Burp Castle. It is a bar where you can only communicate in whispers. If you raise your voice to your normal speaking volume, the bartender will immediately reprimand you in a peculiar way by hissing at you. If you accidentally make the same mistake again, forgetting to whisper, everyone sitting around you will start hissing along with the bartender. The next time, you will probably be helping the bartender shame anyone who breaks the silence yourself.

Burp Castle is designed around a monastery theme. The walls are covered with elaborate medieval-style frescoes. The bartenders wear monk’s robes. In the background, you can hear something resembling religious chants. After about 15 minutes in the establishment, it starts to feel as though you have walked into a medieval church, only to be served a mug of beer.

The advantages are that it is very quiet and cozy, you do not have to buy food at the bar and can order delivery through services such as Uber Eats or DoorDash, the prices are reasonable, and the location in Ukrainian Village is excellent.
