Only recently did I discover the privilege of people who live on Broadway in the United States. While 99% of all US residents write their address according to the rule [number + name + road type], for example: 123 Main Street or 725 Park Ave, residents of Broadway already have “way” in their name, implying that there can be no other options; everyone already knows this street.
For example, the address of a liquor store in New York City is simply:
9 Broadway, New York, NY 10004
Which is often shortened to Nine Broadway.
Meanwhile, residents of New York’s Hudson Heights (the northernmost part of Manhattan) will dictate the humiliatingly tediously long 9 Broadway Terrace. But the leaders in terms of combining visual beauty and brevity are, of course, addresses like 📍1 Ave A.
By the way, I once wrote about the different types of streets in New York and how to find the entrance to a building if you know its address.
