This is the story of how I accidentally ended up on the set of Love Story series in New York. We were walking through the Tribeca neighborhood, and the first thing I noticed was the large number of beautiful vintage cars. I immediately started taking photos.
One of the shots has already appeared in this blog, in a story about taxis.
And only then did I notice the filming equipment on the sidewalks. I hadn’t even managed to cross the street when they started filming a scene with a bicycle across the street.
Riding a bicycle didn’t seem like a big-budget shot, so I forgot about it.
Until I accidentally discovered the Love Story episode where John F. Kennedy rides a bicycle around New York.
Interestingly, the city doesn’t allow filming crews to close off entire streets. Traffic is stopped only during the takes themselves: assistants ask passersby to wait a minute or walk out of frame — usually this takes several minutes.
During breaks between takes, the drivers were clearly bored, tidying up, and quite willing to chat with passersby.
