It is amusing that in one of the oldest and most famous residential buildings in New York City (you can probably guess which one from the logo), you are not allowed to use the regular elevators if you are:
— with a pet,
— delivering food (or making any other type of delivery),
— with a bicycle or large suitcases.
In those cases, you have to use the elevator on the far left. It looks exactly the same as the others, but it lets the other residents feel a little more comfortable without you.
New York City is a city of equal opportunities. It is just that some opportunities ride in the elevator on the far left.
